Wednesday 26 April 2023, 1pm to 3pm

This event takes place at Inverness Masjid, 1 Portland Place, Inverness IV1 1NE

Free, but must be booked in advance

Do you want to reduce your community building’s energy costs and carbon emissions? If so, the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) is here to help.

Funding and support is available to communities to decarbonise community buildings by installing renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels.

Join us at Inverness Masjid where you’ll:

  • learn about how CARES can help your community
  • find out about the funding available to install renewable technologies
  • find out how Inverness Masjid installed solar PV panels and battery storage with support from CARES (read our case study)
  • see the technologies up close and hear more about how they work
  • have time to network with other communities attending.

Local Energy Scotland, which manages CARES for the Scottish Government, will have development officers on hand to answer any questions you may have.

We’ve put some approximate timings together to help you plan your travel arrangements.

  • 1pm – arrival
  • 1.10pm – Introduction, lunch, networking
  • 1.50pm – CARES presentation and time for questions
  • 2.20pm – Inverness Masjid presentation and time for questions
  • 2.40pm – opportunity to view the battery system in small groups (pictures of the panels can also be viewed on a screen), and refreshments
  • 3pm – event closes

Please note: visitors will be asked to remove their shoes or wear shoe covers (which Inverness Masjid can provide).
