As well supporting the general work of the Shapinsay Development Trust funds have been used to support an Out of Hours boat service linking the island of Shapinsay with the Orkney Mainland after the regular ferry service has ended for the evening, to maintain a community transport service and to fund the 'Shapinsay Way Ahead Programme (SWAP). The SWAP fund can be accessed by all the community and is assessed against a published matrix. It has been used to support training and education, youth activities and cultural, social and sporting events. New island websites are being developed - the link below is to the current Development Trust website which will soon be replaced. |
