CARES Mentoring Programme

The pilot phase of the CARES mentoring programme is now open for applications.

Local Energy Scotland aim to put energy in the hands of local people by enabling locally-owned renewable energy projects. We want to bring local energy projects to life by developing and realising the ideas of communities across Scotland through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).

The CARES mentoring programme is available for applications from community organisations undertaking CARES projects. The mentors are all from community organisations that have been through the CARES process.

Our vision for the CARES mentoring programme is to develop a scheme that allows successful CARES projects to build on their achievements by becoming mentors and CARES recipients to strengthen their projects through this peer support. We aim to match mentors with relevant experiences to individuals within community groups to empower them to reach their potential to develop and take forward their own local energy projects.

How do I apply?

Prospective mentee communities should read our guidance note before speaking to their Local Development Officer and filling in an application form.

You can apply at any time. Applications will be assessed by an independent panel.
