About the forum

Join community organisations from across Scotland to share experiences, discuss common challenges and learn from others involved in community benefit funding.

This pilot peer learning forum will bring together community organisations to exchange ideas, share learning and learn from one another’s experiences. Feedback from participants will help shape future peer learning opportunities.

What to expect

Fiona Smith from Glenkens & District Trust and Chris Bunyan from Shetland Community Benefit Trust are board members with many years’ experience managing and administering community benefit funds from wind farms in their communities.

They will begin the forum by sharing lessons learned from their experience before inviting participants to share their own experiences and discuss common challenges.

Topics will include:

  • Lessons learned from managing community benefit funds.
  • Common challenges and approaches to addressing them.
  • Where organisations go for support and advice.
  • Opportunities to connect with other organisations and share learning.
  • Ideas for future peer learning and networking opportunities.

Who should attend?

This forum is for community organisations involved in managing, administering or distributing community benefit funds from renewable energy developments, including development trusts, community councils, funding panels and other community-led organisations.
