Thursday 9 March, from 11.30am to 3pm.

This event takes place at ISKCON Scotland, Karuna Bhavan, Bankhouse Road, Lesmahagow, Lanark ML11 0ES.

Free, but must be booked in advance.

Do you want to reduce your community building’s energy costs and carbon emissions? If so, the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) is here to help.

Funding and support is available to communities to decarbonise community buildings by installing renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels.

Join us at ISKCON Scotland in Lesmahagow where you’ll:

  • learn about how CARES can help your community
  • find out about the funding available to install renewable technologies
  • find out how ISKCON Scotland installed air source heat pumps, solar panels and energy storage with support from CARES (read our case study for more information)
  • see the technologies up close and hear more about how they work
  • have time to network with other communities attending.

Local Energy Scotland, which manages CARES for the Scottish Government, will have development officers on hand to answer any questions you may have.

We’ve put some approximate timings together to help you plan your travel arrangements.

  • 11.30am – arrivals and refreshments
  • 11.45am – a first tour of the buildings
  • 12.30pm – Presentation by Local Energy Scotland and time for questions
  • 1pm – lunch
