Below is an example of what key responsibilities will be expected from panel members.

  • Determining and reviewing the Fund Strategy: Panel members will decide the Fund Strategy, which will detail the Community Benefits Package’s purposes and priorities, distribution mechanism, award sizes, award frequencies, and so on.
  • Attend an induction session and any further training: Led by [NAME of ORGANISATION], these will focus on building an effective Panel.
  • Reviewing funding proposals: [NAME of ORGANISATION] will provide documentation relating to funding proposals for consideration by Panel Members before each decision making meeting. Panel members are expected to review these and request any further information prior to Panel meetings.
  • Reviewing feedback from those receiving funding and monitoring impact: [NAME of ORGANISATION] will also provide information on the achievements and outcomes/ impact reported by grant recipients in their monitoring reports. Panel members are expected to review this prior to Panel meetings.
  • Attending Panel meetings: Panel members are expected to attend regular meetings at which decisions will be made on funding proposals. Panel members will also review the financial position of the Community Benefits Package and progress regarding awards made, and consider any other relevant items of Community Benefits Package business.
  • Promoting the Community Benefits Package locally: Panel members will be encouraged to play a role in Community Benefits Package promotional activity e.g.: distributing posters, forwarding emails, attending publicity events.
  • Providing information to the community council [or equivalent] on Community Benefits Package activity: Panel members nominated by their community council [or equivalent body] will be expected to share relevant information on Community Benefits Package activity so as to ensure the community council [or equivalent body] is informed of Community Benefits Package progress and relevant key decisions.
